a analog modem will not work on a digital line properly. I am sure somewhere out there there is probably an adapter/ convertor to convert analog to digital but I would not suggest trying it because an analog line will have problem communicating through the digital line it is possible but i would highly recommend not doing this

3Com has a product, Digital line guard thats warns if you're about to connect to damaging digital or PBX lines but I can't find any more info on it tonight, the site seems to be slugish.

"What adapters are available to connect an analogue modem to a digital phone line"  There are no such adapters. There is no standard for digital phonelines, pretty much each PBX maker has its own standard.

If you mean "ISDN line" there are converters available, however these are in the "What? are you nuts!"-price range, so it would in most cases be cheaper to buy a specific communications device.
