Hi Experts !

When every I play a .ram file from the net, my system hangs and needs a reboot.

What is happening ?  Can anyone suggest me how to overcome this ?

I also had problems, then uploaded the REal Audio Player package updates.  This is the link:

http://www.realaudio.com/help/

Of course, I also updated my windows 98 system and Media Player to the most current using WindowsUpdate, etc.

I recall reading that if you have uninstalled the RealPlayer that comes with Windows 98 standard using the WindowsUpdate, that some system files are also lost and that either this must be reinstalled to fix, or an updated RealPlayer packaged downloaded and installed.  I chose to do both actions, first reinstate the initial Real Player within WindowsSetup from Win98 CD and then updated it and the Jukebox from the Realaudio.com link.

For all multmedia types of issues, I always make sure as well that I use the WindowsUpdate site to keep DirectX updated.  I then also like the results of using it to diagnose my hardware and driver setups for sound, video, etc. to make sure all is updated and passes the DirectX diagnostic tests.

Done via
start
run msinfo32
tools
DirectX diagnostics.
