Installed and recognized by system (not by HP software, nor by test in propriety), but when reboot appears: (translated from italian)

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you can resolve this two different ways

1, Uninstall all of the scanner software then reboot hit ctrl, alt, delete and end task everything except for explorer and systray then install the scanner and all of it's software again

2. put in your win98 cd  if it open automatically then close it Go to start run type msinfo32 hit enter then go to tools and then system file checker select to extract one file from diskette..type for the name of the file USER32.DLL then click next,  on the next screen it will ask you where to extract the file click on browse then click on your cd-rom drive and select the folder win98 (if you do not have a folder win98 then just select d:)   then where it says save in browse to
c:\windows\system     directory then hit next it will extract the file and install it reboot and the message should be gone problem should be fixed

In theory it must work, but in fact, in the first case I was unable in obtaining something and the second solution hangs my system so I must re-install it. Obviously my scanner works, due, I think, the new user32.dll.
Thanks, biancassin.
