whats better athlon or dual p2 450?

This is a tough question, I'm looking for a new motherboard/cpu. For about $360 I can get an athlon 600 with the fic sd-11 motherboard, and for $420 I can get dual p2 450 and a motherboard.
What should I get?
Is the bus on the athlon way faster than the p2?

Main worry: will quake 3 run?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

the bus speed is the same 100mhz has been the limit set by pc's, I have found that Dual processing power is always better if your running a server and want to dedicate process, now if this is a computer for your own personal and your not running nt server or workstation then dual p2's is not the way to go at all, even if you are runiing nt workstation in order to get the max preformance out of 2 processors you need to split jobs between them and know exactly what programs you will be using ----- spec wise athlon has more processing power if you are going to be doning everyday tasks, however you can better utlize the processing power of 2 processors on a server and get more out of them
