hi,
if you want to send emila the the host will be your servers address.
maybe you better just sending messages via tcp/ip etc instead of email.

for smtp there is good example in delphi\demos\intenet\smtp directory

but here another:

procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
begin
if not(nmsmtp1.Connected)
then begin
nmsmtp1.Host:= 'your mail servers address;
nmsmtp1.UserID := 'your mail userid';
nmsmtp1.Connect;
end;

if nmsmtp1.Connected
then
begin
nmsmtp1.ClearParams := True;
nmsmtp1.SubType := mtPlain;
nmsmtp1.EncodeType := uuMime;
nmsmtp1.PostMessage.FromAddress := 'Legend@Enterprise.Net';
nmsmtp1.PostMessage.ReplyTo := nmsmtp1.PostMessage.FromAddress;
nmsmtp1.PostMessage.FromName := 'Barry';
nmsmtp1.PostMessage.ToAddress.Add('BorgsAssmilate@Aol.Com');
nmsmtp1.PostMessage.Body.AddStrings(Memo1.lines);
nmsmtp1.PostMessage.Subject := 'A Test';
nmsmtp1.PostMessage.Date := DateToStr(Date);
nmsmtp1.SendMail;
MessageDlg('Mail sent', mtInformation, [mbOk], 0);
end
else
MessageDlg('NOT connected', mtInformation, [mbOk], 0);
end;

if you wish to send just a text message  to another pc you need a small client and server program like the chat one in delphi\demos\internet\chat dir..
which is made for just this purpose.

are you meaning the code i post or the chat program ?

i tried the code and seemed ok,are you sending through mail server?

for the chat demo do you know you have to run the client on one pc(to listen and display message) and server on another pc to send message.

I mean your code and i am sending through mail server .
another thing !!!!!
is the use of this compnent(NMMSTP)give me the ability to send mail from any
not my own e-mail without knwoing the
password of it,i think this is not more secure(remember all you want is to
determine the (TO Address property).
thanks....

all i have to do is specify in the host:
 mail.myserver.net
 and it works fine..
(i try using ip adress and fails so i need name of server as far as im aware)

about the password bit ,its a bit  strange how it doesnt seem to require one.

if the component keeps failing perhaps try another from torrys web site etc..
