icl4 to cicn

can I convert a 'ics8' icon retrieved from the desktop database into a 'cicn' to display in a popupmenu using SetItemIcon() or can I retrieve a 'cicn' resource from the desktop database using PBDTGetIconSync()?

Here's a link to a code sample from Apple that shows how to do the
conversion from an 'icl8' to a 'cicn':

Looks like its easily modifiable to work with the smaller 'ics8' icons...
