Where can I find a C source code for reading/writting TIFF and GIF format images from/to a file ?

The source code should be linux compatible (or easy to be converted to)

TSMITH: Thanks, but there is no sample source code, only specifications for TIFF format. I am trying to avoid writting the functions myself (which will cause me to spend time on learning the file formats).
