I'm running Redhat 6.0 and have installed the jdk-117_v1a-2.i386.rpm package.  When I tried to run the javac command to compile any of my .java files, I get the following error message:
/usr/local/jdk117_v1a/bin/java: error in loading shared libraries: /usr/local/jd
k117_v1a/lib/i686/green_threads/libjava.so: undefined symbol: _dl_symbol_value

Any Ideas on how to fix this one?  Thanks in advance.

The blackdown jdk-port of 1.1.7 does not work with RH6.0. I think this is a glibc2.1 problem. The IBM-port of the same library works. Go to IBM and download their RPM:s of 1.1.8 instead (works, but poorly, with Staroffice):
