Is there a way to add a new server to a tree and take over the server that holds the master replica?

Just like you do in winnt domains when you promote a Backup Domain Controler to Primary Domain Controler.

Our situation is: we have two Netware 4.11 servers holding the tree. Is it possible to install from scratch Netware 5.1 on the one with the master replica and make it hold the master replica?

Thanks in advance: Xavier Serra

NDS MAnager does this with a few clicks
Look in the Public\W95 folder.  You will see the NDS MAnager, a GUI interface.  You can promote a read/write replica to a Master.  In your case, install NW5.1 using a temp tree name and a temp server name.  Then download the Upgrade wizard from Novell and follow simple instructions.  The wizard will step you through moving the old NW4.11 server to the new 5.1 server and remove the old one from the tree.  The new 5.1 server will have the server name and tree of the old server.  This operation can be undone, however, nothing is deleted or destroyed on the old server.  Does this help.
