how do i turn off the ocr so that when i send the scan it does not edit it?I am scanning a letter with letterhead & text. I am using a hp3000C

what are you scanning in and trying to send pictures, a document ?  what program are you using and what scanner do you have

IF you want to be able to send it so that someone can read it in microsoft word format or something like that or through r-mail then it has to go through the ocr that is the only way it makes it as text otherwise it treats it like a picture and microsoft word will open it as a picture if it even can and therefore you would not be able to edit it as picture.
