I have about 10 Mac's and 2 Win98 boxes.  I also just recently added a linux server to setup and host our web site.  I really don't want to setup PCMaClan.  I was told that i could run the connecctions through the Linux server.  My question is will my Win98 boxes be able to view in there network Hood the Mac's and mount them as drives ??  Also, how difficult is this connection going to be.

No this wont work!

Two other solution!

1.) The linux server can have a directory which can be accessed by both systems

2.) You can mount a Windows 9x(NT) share on the linux server which can be accessed by the Macintosh

For both solutions you have to install atalkd and samba on the linux. If you have a new distribution (e.g. Suse 6.3) they are quite easy to setup. Feel free to ask if you have problems with the installation.
