Netscape only and needs signing (UniversalBrowserRead):
window.open(...,...,'titlebar=no')

Free Tool: Site Down Detector

Helpful to verify reports of your own downtime, or to double check a downed website you are trying to access.

One of a set of tools we are providing to everyone as a way of saying thank you for being a part of the community.

This generally isn't possible because the title bar is handled by the OS, not the browser.

Like mplungjan said, you can use a "signed script" to get Navigator to open a window with no title bar, but the user will be asked several questions before the window is opened -- this is considered a security violation (hence the signed script).

I'm sure this is possible in IE too (there are so many security holes you can do just about anything), but I don't know how.

yes...npappas is right. The maximaze button is handled my netscape (or the crappy IE), and not any JavaScript applications. If VBscript would let you use the API, then you could SendMessage the window, but you can't. Sorry.
