Hi, I was wondering which of these two sweet programs to chose in order to learn how to work on 3d graphics...
I've heard alot of good things for Blender (http://www.blender.nl)

Also, you can be sure of a good program when you are using 3DStudioMax...

I was just wondering which one of these two is easier/faster/best to start learning 3d graphic design...

Thanks

(if you could give me 2-3 book titles while at it, it would be appreciated)

since i don't know very much about blender, i could only say a thing of 3D Studio MAX. 3D Studio MAX is probably the fundamental of all 3d programs. if you are blind of 3D, you should go for 3D Studio MAX since its interface is very user friendly (easy to understand) and not complicated.

the book i recommend you is 3D Studio MAX (R1) Fundamental. After you've mastered all the chapters... it's up to you if you want to continue your reading to Inside 3D Studio MAX R2 Volume 1, 2, and 3. The most important thing here is you master how to model first before you start animating.

i suggest you to learn how to use 3D Studio MAX R2.0 or R2.5. Don't jump straight to MAX R3. Use MAX R2.0 and refer to the "3D Studio MAX Fundamental" yes it is the learning book for MAX R1. but it will provide you all the basic material you would need to know, moreover the book is quite easy to follow, i would review !

Why not R3? it has too many integrated animations or features and it doesn't teach you the "basics" of 3d designing?

Just a question
