in mac os 8.5.1 hitting the command+tab keys allows you to toggle between an open application and the finder or another application. in quark xpress hitting the command+tab key selects the following tool on the tool palette. in mac os 8.5.1 the quark key combination conflicts with the os 8.5.1 key combination.

is there any way to disable this function in mac os 8.5.1 so that the quark key combination remains functional?

(without changing the operating system, of course)

In 8.5.1 i dont believe you can change that. In 9 however you can change that key combination to anything you want through http://www.public.iastate.edu/~cosy/download/dock_manager.sit ....You could try it on 8.5.1 and see if it has any effect but i doubt it..Its really meant for 9.

Actually i was right and wrong at the same time..heh...I went and double checked the dock manager website at http://www.public.iastate.edu/~cosy/ and found that it will in fact work with 8.5 and up. It will provide you with a way to change the command-tab keyboard shortcut to anything you want. Enjoy..=)
