Does any body know of some source which would help me fax thru a program created in VB.  Also whether it would be possible to send a fax from a node on a LAN using a modem connected to the server.  If it is possible where can i find that program and source.  Of course i want the source to be free.

Thanks in advance

Use MAPI. In stead of the e-mail adress then write "Fax:00000000". You need to have e.g. Microsoft Fax tools installed, e.g. on the Win98 CD. I'm not sure about NT.
