HP 870 Cxi

When  I get my window after hitting the print icon,I am not able to print more than one copy at a time. The number of copies is "stuck" at one in the little box that allows multiple copie to be made.
I am running Windows 98 on a Dell XPS R 400.
Do I reinstall my HP programs?
Thought I would ask an expert before I get too involved.
Thanks in advance.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

YES! Most certainly one of the first steps. If the printer was working fine when it was first installed and the problem has arisen since, before you get too involved reload the driver. It is quite possible that it has become corrupted through other events in the operating system. Use the uninstall shield in control panel to remove the driver (add/remove programs) then reinstall it the same way, after rebooting, don't get bogged down with technical details at first, try all the simple things. Let me know if this solves the problem, if not I will tell you the next step.
