is there any way to determine when thumbnail view is enabled in win98? Or, is there any way to initialize an IShellBrowser window or Explorer window to thumbnail view?

Hi Pietrzak,
I have not implemented this but i can give you some idea. There is no direct way of determining if Thumbnail view is enabled (some one can correct me on this), but there is way to get to this info.

From IShellBrowser interface, get IShellView interface pointer. From this IShellView interface use GetItemObject method to get interface pointer of IViewObject2 interface pointer of displayed object. Then make use of GetExtent method of IViewObject2 to get the aspect property. If it equals DVASPECT_THUMBNAIl, then you can say that Thumbnail view is enabled.

Hope it helps to some extent.
