kobu84,What games do you have that you want the Sidewinder game pad??? I have the Windows 98 SE and I could probaly help you with your question. I have a game called Quake from id software that uses the Sidewinder game pad.  Have you configured your game pad??? If not, what you need to do is to is:

1) Click the Start Button.
2) Click the Settings option, and click the Control Panel icon.
3) Click on the Game Controllers icon. This will bring up a dialog box with the General Tab already selected. This shows the properties for adding a controller to the setup. Click on the Add button. This will bring up another dialog box.
4) Use the scroll bar in the dialog box and scroll down until you see the name "Microsoft Sidewinder Game Pad" and click once to highlight it, and click the OK button. This will add it to the General tab and should show in the Status part of the dialog box, an OK, If it does not, please let me know what it says. Next, you will have to calibrate it.
5) To Calibrate it,Click on the Properties button. This will take you to another dialog box with the Settings tab already selected.
6) Click on the Calibrate button, then follow the directions at the top of the dialog box, and when you are ready to go to the next step, click on the "Next" button. If, after you have done this, it still does not work, please let me know, and I will see what I can do to help you.
Thanks,
