JDBC error - Access -Operation invalid on setAutoCommit

I am using Access (jdbc-odbc bridge) and Oracle (Thin driver) to connect to these databases.

But, at one particular point in my application , when i do :

con.setAutoCommit(false);
where con is an Connection object.

I get the msg :
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access 97 Driver]Operation invalid at this time.

This happens only when i am connected to Access DB, not when i use Oracle DB connection.

Why is this so ?

Hello,

As far as I know, Access 97, and especially its ODBC drivers, don't know about the concept of "Transactions". That's why the function call returns an error.
