Do you have any ideas how to set Eudora as the default mailto: application in Navigator 4.08? Right now I click on a mailto: link and nothing happens.

A lengthy (tedious) search through Netscape's online help gave me detailed information on how to set that in Windows but nothing for Mac.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, use the following applescript...

tell application "Netscape Communicator"
register protocol "CSOm" for protocol "mailto"
end tell

Thats it...If you dont know how to set this up as an applescript with the Script Editor i can send you the script via email.

I have never used AppleScript (though I might be able to). But I use Navigator (not Communicator) and what does "CSOm" have to do with Eudora 4.3?  Can weed clarify?

The script works for both communicator and navigator. I use it for communicator which is why the script has communicator in it. CSOm is the creator code for eudora which is what netscape needs to launch eudora. To use that applescript just paste it into Script Editor and hit the Play button.

Weed,

You're a genius. And now I'm not so scared of Applescript.

  Thanks!
