PPT 2000 to HTML conversion

Hi,
I have PowerPoint 2000 and need to convert ppt files to HTML occassionally. When I did this with PowerPoint '97, it gave me a boring, but easy to deal with set of web pages. Now I have upgraded (or at least changed :-) to PowerPoint 2000. When I do a conversion from ppt to HTML I get a very complex set of frames with lots of CSS and XML. There are 2 problems with this. Not everyone who might want to look at the conversions will be able to deal with XML and I cannot modify these files successfully without first learning XML (which I am slowly working on).
Other than going back to PowerPoint '97, does anyone know if there is a way to get simpler conversions from PowerPoint 2000 to HTML?
I am marking this as a "moderate" question. I would be happy to increase the points if someone has a "hard" answer :-)
Thanks!

Try first converting your document to a MS Word 2000 document and then saving the document as an HTML page! This works, and is one of the better web integration features promised in the MS Office 2000 suite of products. MS word has a much stronger and more active set of built in conversion tools that automatically.
