play multiple sequential movie clips?

I assumed it would be a simple thing to play one movie clip after another by placing them in sequential frames (Clip A in frame 1, Clip B in frame 2, etc.) but I can't make it work. I can make it play the first clip and stop, but I don't know how to make it play Clip A and then play Clip B. To play Clip A I have to put a Stop action in frame 1 and another in the final frame of Clip A to prevent it from looping; consequently, the movie doesn't know to proceed to frame 2 and play Clip B. Is this a matter of inserting more frame actions? Thanks.

m'kay tournefort, it seems that you've misunderstood about what is defined as movie clip. first, movie clip will automatically loop itself if you didn't put stop command. second, movie clip is not translated into only 1 frame into your main scene. This means if you make 100 frames movie clip, when you insert it onto your main scene, you will have to provide 100 blank frames before you insert another movie clip. don't just insert the movie clip into a single frame only, indeed it only requires 1 frame to display the keyframe, but the real thing is it still requires 99 other frames to display all its frames !!

don't put a stop on the first frame of your movie clip, put it only on the last frame... or else it will stuck on the first frame until other frame trigger another play action!... hope this helps you !!!
