Color in hypercard!

How do I make make a colored moving interactive sprite for a videogame? It's movement is not tile based. Also it is see-through (anything the sprite walks over is seen through it). Please be specific and thorough.

Well, the basic theory is that you have several frames of animation composing the sprite, and you composite an appropriate frame on top of your background(s)/other sprites in an offscreen buffer then copy that to the screen, many times a second, giving the illusion of movement. Making this a FAST process is where the tricky bits come in, and they tend to depend a lot on your particular game design.

In any case, an actual implementation takes a bit too much code to paste in here :) I suggest you go to the SpriteWorld home page at

and grab the source code, documentation, and demos from

since that resource is far more complete than anything you're going to get for an answer here
