Dear Friends,

I have installed Workshop Compiler C++ 4.2 in Sun Solaris 2.6. Now i want to use makefile for compiling my cpp programs.

From where i can get gmake utility for this environment? How to write make file?. if i get any information in this regard, i will be grateful to you. I am expecting your early reply. pls send me ASAP.

As I don't have experience on maintain unix. I am not sure where can I find those make utility for Solaris. But I guess the make utlility and g++ compiler should come together with your Solaris. You should able to use command g++ to compile a c++ program or gmake to make the project.

If you need a win verision of make, you can go to this site in this link:
http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin/

I am not sure to write a make file in fact, When I need to write a make file, I always modify from some existing one. You can post a new question about this as I really know very little about it. Anyway, I can mail some to you if you need.
