5200C Error 2093 "Not Responding"

HPCC: Do you know if this is the same hardware problem you indicated with the 3300c in aonther question?

Brand new scanner.  It works intermittently (1 scan) then stops half way through the scan.

Compaq LTE: 133Mhz Pentium: 128M RAM.

here is info. on the problem on how to fix it

ISSUE: Scanner completes one or two scans then displays the error "Scanner Not Responding: 2093." No red X appears on the scanner icon.

SOLUTION: Add the /di switch in Device Manager.

1. In Device Manager, select SCSI Controllers, then HP EPST Parallel SCSI Adapter.

2. Select Settings, then type /di on the Adapter Settings line.

3. Select OK, exit Device Manager, and reboot the computer.

NOTE: This problem was observed on a Compaq LTE 5400 Laptop with a HP DeskJet 855Cse printer.

if this does not fix it then please advise how it is connected

Thanks for the advise.

After the changes I managed to scan all day with only one error 2093 being reported so it has helped a great deal.

I'm not sure what the other problem is, but is was resolved by rescanning which did not work in the past.

Thanks again.

Colin
ps I'm connected via the parallel port
