scanner will not respond, error says could not open the twain source, check twain directory in windows directory. how do I correct this problem?

Did you check the directory C:\windows\twain ?
If you did, check whether a twain(.dll) is present.
If not, check your HP4200c installation software. After installing twain should be available.
If not, you can try to download a twain-driver from the internet. (did you check the HP-site?)

Warning: If the HP4200C installation is for Windows95 and you are using Windows98, installation might fail! Always use the install for the correct Windows version.
