Do you want to provide hosting or internet access?

If you want to provide NT hosting, I would recommend NOT setting up your own equipment.  It's too expensive and tedious, and the margins are painfully low.

I provide NT hosting for my clients with an NT reseller account.  No equipment, no hassles, no muss, no fuss.  And did I mention: dirt cheap?  So cheap, in fact, that I GIVE the hosting away.  Can make more money on labor than hosting.

For the best deal on NT reseller accounts, have a look at:

  http://www.sentris.com

Their rates are so cheap, I have no idea how they make any money.  And the support is fairly decent too.

There are several ways to go about this that don't involve a large cash outlay:

1.  Set up an affiliate relationship with an established IAP (e.g., Prodigy, Surfree, WorldSpy, etc.).  My experience is that Surfree's is the most lucrative.

2.  Become a "virtual IAP" through a 3rd party who does most of the work for you.  Example: http://www.dialupusa.net

As with hosting, the margins on being an IAP are so slim, it just makes no sense to try to start from scratch.

Still another option is to hook up with a reseller program that offers both ISP and IAP, such as Cognigen.  I have a relationship with them myself and earn a 6% residual commission.  For details, check out:
