KRNL386.EXE illegal operation when trying to use real player 7

I have been having a problem with real player on my computer.  I just installed the full version of real player 7 and when I click on the real player icon to use it i get this illegal opeation:

REALPLAY caused a general protection fault
in module KRNL386.EXE at 0002:00007aaf.

this was also happening with my previous version of real player and I didn't bother trying to do anything about it untill I got the real player 7 and want to be able to use it now.  Any help any of you experst can give will be greatly appreciated thanks.

It seams you have either a memory or file system exeption. So try this scan your disk for errors with windows scandisk and let it correct mistakes if there are eny. You didn t write how long is this happening if this is from the first day using real player it could be a hardware problem with memory aldough I don t think so as you obviesly don t have problems with other aplications. if this with disk doesnt help try reinstalling real player and if that doesn t solve the problem you should reinstall windows or find another player (Media player or so).
