To Dbrunton:

On my question #10256518 you made several suggestions.  Unfortunately it took me many weeks to find the time to try them and in the meantime the question was deleted.  Although I ended up installing a new hard drive anyway, your suggestions were good ones and if you submit an answer to this, I will award you the points.  I am also going to post another question since I can't get the computer to recognize the new hard drive properly.  Perhaps you can help?
