how to know for sure -- plus more questions

My bios shows pentium III
My windows-system settings show it is pentium III

BUT I know my machine patheticlly slow compared to some machines with the same configuration...

How to know for sure 100% that my system has a pentium III 450 and not a pentium II 450 or any other ..without opening the box ??--(warranty becomes void )


Also how to measure processor , mother board or RAM performance ?

Is there a software to measure computer harware performances ?4


I used discover pro on my machine (supoosedly pentium III) and another which has AMD K5 MMX

the amd ran faster according to the test cl;ocking 555 mhz against pentium --whcih clocked 450 only

In fact the pentium III is on 44O BX intel mother board and 128 MB ram //


Please tell me whether I have been cheated or NOT ?

btw what is overclocking -- using overclocking is it possible to CHEAT a pentium II to be a PENTIUM III
