Power failure in the middle of scanning

I just installed a new HP ScanJet 3200C and was scanning my first image when the power went off.  When the power cam back on, I restarted my computer and tried to start scanning again.  When I tried to run the scanning program I got a message: "Can not find scanner.  You may have a scanner hooked up to your computer, but the program can't find it."  What do I do???  I've tried everything I can think of.  I've checked and rechecked the connections.  From what I can tell, I have everything hooked up right.  Can anyone help me?

ASKER

The HP Technical Support line is not very customer friendly.  They have a (900) number, which charges $1.99 per minute.  We, the customers, spend big bucks on HP products.  The least they could do is give us a toll free number with a live technician who can answer your questions to the best of their abilities....not an automated phone line.  I am not very happy about this.  I had a problem and spent 3 hours on it before trying to contact someone for technical support.  When I attempted to contact somone, all I was given was an automated number that was of no help and a number that would have charged me $1.99 per minute to talk to a live operator.  I was furious.  That doesn't sound like a very professional way to conduct business and have repeat customers.
