DirectInput Initialization Error

Yes, I have recently copied a list of different arcade games onto my harddrive.  They run off from an emulator file named mame32.exe. So, to run any game from the list, I merely double click on the mame32.exe file within file manager and a list of games appears to select.

Now, the games run fine on my system.  But, when I try to get any to run from a friends computer, I get an error indicating DirecInput initialization error.  The only difference between the setup is the one which is working fine with the games is running Windows 98 and the other one with the DirectInput error is running Windows 95.

Any help on this matter will greatly be appreciated.

I can remember that mame32.exe requires DirectX 3.0 or higher. So just install a new version of DirectX on your friend's computer, i.e. DirectX 6.0 or 7.0. I think it should work.

Thank you so much for your solution.  I installed DirectX 7.0 and everything is working fine now.  I no longer get the DirectInput error associated with the mame32.exe file.

     Thanks again.
