Ver 5.02b problem with open files
Hi!
We have a Domino Server 5.02b that run on a NT 4 with service pack 6. The backupprogram earlier backed up every file including open files but that cause problem for users that eventually see a message that the maildatabase was locked by another process.
I think that the process was the backupprocess. We use BackupExec.
I have change the configuration to skipped open files and the problem disappear but we have new ones...
The problem with this configuration is that most of the maildatabases do not backed up at all. They is open days and nights. But I don´t think a common user is at his or her job at 1 am i the morning. And the client computers is closed out of business times.
The problem is that Domino do not close the maildatabase at all. Is there any configuration that can close unused databases.
The user also often get a message PANIC: Object reference invaled etc whet they close the Notes-client, that is another problem.
The Domino itself regularity delete a random user mailfile, one a mounth or so. Is it possible to change NTFS accessrights to NOT DELETE for the Domin oprocess, but every other rights unchanged (create, write, change, read etc). Can that cause problem with Domino.
I think that all these problems is related to each other and a solution is neccesary or the situation will be severy or impossible.
Any ideas?

2. Regarding BackupExec, are you using the agent for Domino that backs up open files? If not, you should.
3. PANIC: Object reference invalid. - No help for you here.
