Is there a way to export or save rules that I have applied to public folders?  I know how to export rules from outlook's rules wizard, but I need to know how to do it from the public folders in case I ever need to restore these permissions in the event of a crash.

Try this:

1. Create a new Outlook folder and switch to it.
2. Choose File | Folder | Copy Folder Design.
3. Select the public folder you want to copy rules from.
4. Check the box to copy rules and anything else about the folder that you want to back up.
