PC Freezes

I have a Pentinum 200MMX PC with 2 HD's
(1. 1.6GB has Win NT and 2. 8.4GB and has Win 98) I also have a CD ROM running.
More and more I am noticing that it freezes at different stages and I have to shut down.
I have disconnected the CD ROM and only using 1 drive and it seems OK but obviously I want all hardware connected.
Any suggestions?

does it lock up while using any program in general?  Do you know how much drive space is on your primary partition?  Also..NT hogs memory..
How much ram do you have?

ASKER

It locks up in any program, none in particular. 836MB is the amount left on primary partition which has NT on. I have 64MB of RAM.

Thanks but the problem was loose power connectors on both drives. Working OK now.
Set the hard disk drive use for boot up as Master, set the other HDD at Slave, connector of the 40-pin cable to the first drive, another connector to the second drive, and the other end of the cable to the connector IDE1 on the mainboard.
you can ignore the setting of the CD-ROM drive.connect one end of the 40-pin cable to the drive, and the other end to connector IDE2 on the mainboard.
I recommenf this method, which has no influence on HDD speed.
