scanjet 5p scsi card
I have recently bought a computer (win98)which supports USB. I used my HP scanjet 5p on my older computer(win95) using the SCSI card that came with it. Is there a cable available that would connect it to my computers USB port or do I still need to use the card, only I'm having problems installing it.
The 5P scanner is SCSI and not convertible. What problems are you having with the installation of the card?
AT this stage SCSI is fastre than USB so there is no reason to want to use USB at this stage. So with that in mind you might want to d/load s/ware for win98 from http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/sj5ppc_swen.html
You have a choice of Deskscan or p/scan.
Deskscan (sj166en.exe) is ugly and simple but does the trick. P/scan (sj272en.exe) is a lot more user friendly. Both will work under win98 with your SCSI card sj5p
