Scanjet 3300c win2k ever???

Does anyone know if the ScanJet 3300c (USB) is or will it ever be compatibale with windows 2000?  The HP website says it probably won't be. If not, are there any trick or "rigs" that I can do to my scanner to make it compatible with windows 2000?

One thing to look at is even though Windows 2000 sets up the USB port and sees the 3300cse scanner ( I also have one, running a HP Pavilion) you will notice in devices that there is not a signature. The best I can dicern at this point is that if Windows saw it as a legitimate device, there would also be that signature. I know thats not much help, but I think it needs to be there.  SOOOOOO, Microsoft and/or HP needs to get it together and address USB connections, I like Windows 2000 for the most part but peripheral support is in the tank !!!
A driver installation via HP´s Setup routine isn´t possible. But you can install the driver via the inf file supplied on the driver disk. 3300 runs well under admin account, but doesn´t under other accounts.
