I'm looking for a list of inexpensive fax shareware that will work with my HP 6300C scanner.  I am running Win98SE and was going to try to install Microsoft Fax, but I became nervous about what might happen to my Outlook 2000 email installation (it's not the corporate / workgroup installation).  Thanks for your help.

you can look for shareware programs at http://www.zdnet.com click on the link for downloads then do a serach on "fax software"

you need to have a MAPI compliant fax software program such as winfax. Your fax software is located in the printers window (if you have any) you can access the printers window by going to start, settings, printers

some of the shareware programs may not be Mapi compliant you would be better off buying winfax ver. 9.0
