Mac to NT RAS through Dial-Up

I am trying to get our PowerMac 7100/80 to dial-in to our NT RAS.  The Mac has OS 8.6 installed, and the problem I'm running into is after physical connection, the authentication always fails and it disconnects.  Here are things I've already checked:

NT dial-up permissions on user account
tried other user accounts
confirmed services for mac on nt server
set authentication type on nt server to "any"

I can't figure this one out at all...

On this page http://www.macwindows.com/Network.html there is a link to a product to TunnelBuilder/NTS PPP 4.0 which enables macs to connect to NT RAS servers. The macs need the NTS PPP utility to enable authentication

Your solution was not necessary.  The link to the software you speak of is broken, but the website you referred to offered a valid solution:

Prefix the user name with the domain, (domain\user) because the RAS server is not the PDC.  Thanks

Yeah i just noticed that the NTP PPP server seems to be down. The TunnelBuilder link still works though.
