HelpDesk - rate Caltraker, Wonderdesk, others?

I'm still looking for a Helpdesk programme  applicable to libraries;
we would like it (minimum requirements) to accept our identification (e.g. student number),
track by student no. and/or name,
send automatic acknowledgemtnt,
interface with other systems (e.g. those storing (our) student nos.)
store responses, and archive them

Caltraker, Wonderdesk, QRC are being looked at; if anyone has any experience with any of these, please get in touch?

If you know of superior programmes, please let me know!!

Remedy.com has not got the answer to what we want to do, as far as I can see from their public site.
So, please, any other suggestions?

Hi Angie -

Here is a good general site with commentary and links for various Help Desk programs:  http://www.philverghis.com/helpdeskfaq.html

As a librarian you're probably already familiar with the site  http://www.carl.org/  They may have something there or links to something interesting

Remedy at http://www.remedy.com is a very flexible development system which has some "out of the box" applications available.  Primarily used as a Help Desk, it is easy to create applications which track anything - people, items, projects, etc.  Remedy is a leader in the Help Desk industry and has a strong customer base.
