.ttf fonts for the mac

I am trying to open a graphic in Illustrator that uses a Coronet font as part of the logo.  I don't have the font but I downloaded a Coronet.ttf font online.  Can I use this?  How do I use it?  When I put it in the font folder it didn't show up in Photoshop or Illustrator.  Any suggestions on what to do and where to find this font?

Thanks!

You need a program called Fontgrapher. This program will convert your pc font to  macintosh font.

There has to be a more inexpensive answer than a $350 software.  any other ideas?

Thanks!

I can appreciate the pricing thing. It used to come bundled with Macromedia Freehand.

I did a little research and find this for 49.95

I don't know anything about it.
I did a search on "font converter"

Hope this helps.
