First I must inform all that I have read all the available postings regarding the HiNote CT475 drivers.
Many of the web address that are posted at experts.com are now linked to Compaq where the support for the HiNote is very limited.
The HiNote Ultra and newer laptops have a considerable flotilla of support.
The plain wrapper HiNote CT475 is excluded.
The referenced drivers in the postings are for those that have an operational PC.
I am attempting to refurbish a PC that has been rudely stripped with Deltree for a friends 7 year old son.
I have a manual that came with the PC that clearly describes the required executables that should be saved onto a diskette, including tha Autoexec.bat and Config.sys
SSCIRRUS.EXE, CS.EXE, CSALOC.EXE, ATADRV.EXE, MTSRAMDRV.EXE, MTDDRV.EXE, CARDID.EXE, AND MS-FLASH.SYS
I need these files.
No DOS Drivers for the HiNote CT475 are posted in all the driver listing I have searched.
I need the drivers to get an external CD-ROM operational so I can Install Win98.
Look at this support document from Compaq: http://www.compaq.com/support/techpubs/customer_advisories/8103.html
You should be able to locate the files you need by searching for the filesnames at www.compaq.com/support
This will bring up supportpaq's to download, where the filename that you searched are present. Download and
manually copy the needed files to another location and delete the rest.
Continue until you got them all.
Hope this helps.
A lot of driver information is available at the suggested site, however no drivers are easily available, lots of links to documents, and non-applicable drivers.
