Persisting Session when client Cookies are off

I am relatively new to CF and have researched this situation in ASP but am curious how CF handles it.  What should I be looking at, where can I read more and is there a best practice when the client has turned off cookies yet I use session variables throught my application.

Session variables are not reliant on cookies being turned on.  They are a server side thing.  Client variables on the other had do require cookies.  If you have CF Server installed you could check the docs at this address.

Sorry it took so long to get these points back to you.  The documentation reference you sent does not really answer the question in a straight fashion...or more to the point, to my satisfaction, but I was late getting this response back because of my contract job hunting, so for right now, CF is on the back burner.  Thank you for your response.
