HP 6250C With ADF

On the first attempt from bootup to scan a document to print, using the copy feature or a scanning program, the printer delivers a sheet of paper covered in nothing but black ink.  Shuting the printer off and re-scanning the printer usually provides a good copy.  All copying attempts thereafter work normally until the scan program is closed and the whole process starts over again.  I have un-installed, re-installed several times with no help.  I have as far as I know the latest drivers installed and the latest scan managers installed.  Any thoughts?

Make sure you download all the patches from HP.  Make sure you install them exactly as it says in the instructions.  There are patches available for the copy utility.  I have the same scanner and have done battle with it for months.  It seems that you also need a memory manager like RAMBOOSTER and CACHEMAN from CNET.COM to clean up "dirty" memory too.  Finally using a USB interface seems to be more reliable than a SCSI interface
