HP 3200C on Windows NT

I want to use my HP 3200C Scanner in Windows NT but can't find the drivers. Who has drivers for this scanner?

As shown on the links below, this scanner is not compatible with NT.

http://www.scanjet.hp.com/products/3200c/default.htm

"System Requirements
PC with Pentium® (586 & up) or equivalent processor
Parallel port
Windows® 95, 98
16 MB RAM or more (32 MB recommended)
VGA monitor (256 colors)
CD-ROM drive "

This solution works perfect. I thought I was screwed by HP, but this driver saved the day. I don't notice any difference from the HP3200c in win98 from using this scanner driver in NT!

: "www02.umax.com/download/product.cfm?prdCat=Scanner
: Download the Umax Astra 1220p driver from the above site. Make sure it's the parellel driver you retreive and not the scsi
: It's a much better driver and includes VistaScan which is ideal for Beginners and Advanced users alike as it allows you to choose between settings for both.
: It is mure functional and allows you to control the scanner lamp as well as all the usual things like resolution, source image type (magazine, text, art etc)
: Only drawback is that it is 22MB. You can order the CD or download the driver only which is 12MB. This includes TWAIN drivers and VistaScan. The full install includes Photo enhanced Magic Match(ing), OCR and lots of other useful tools. "

: And yes it works GREAT !"

http://www02.umax.com/download/index.cfm
Consumer Scanners
Scanner model: Astra 1220P
Operating system: Windows NT

Disk 1 of Vistascan 3.5.1
File: vcs351pa.exe
File size: 6.7 Mb

Execute the file and the installer is extracted.
Run setup and choose custom install. Only select to install the drivers (the others give errors).
Reboot the computer after installing the software.

Now it's possible to use the Scanjet 3200C in Windows NT.

There are more files on the umax-site but I only had time to download the first one.

to be continued...

I have made some scans (at home) with corelscan using the umax drivers with the HP scanjet 3200C and it't working. I'll do some more testing after downloading the other software from the UMAX site.

The scanners look the same (and the sizes are the same) but the color depth is different.
Is there a way to check the real color depth of my scanner?

The latest version of this driver (22.9 Mb) is available on:

http://support.umax.co.uk

I'll download these drivers and test them on Windows NT.

I found some information on the umax support site:

Model: Astra 1220P, 1220S, 1220U
Internal Bit Depth (ADC): 30
Hardware Output Bit Depth: 36 (with BET)

It looks like umax scans only 30 bit-colors.
