ZEN Workstation Registration Fails

Atttempting to setup ZEN 1.1 on NW5 server with SP4, client 3.2, on WIN95 clients.  IPX and IP are bound to both server and clients. Error in log on PC states:

WSREG-v2.0  This workstation currently does not have a DS Authenticated Connection to the trusted tree.  This program is unable to complete the registration or to update the workstation properties.

I have no trouble logging in to the server. Any ideas??

Unregister the workstation first. Run unreg32.exe from the public directory on the server while logged into the workstation. Then reboot to and login again to re-register the workstation . Check Netware Administrator to make sure it registered. Then import the workstation again.

ran the unreg, did not make a difference. Cannot import "again" as I can not register.  Further trouble shooting indicates authentication issues that I do not understand yet.  Although I log in, when I opened NwAdmin form the WIN32 directory, I got a message that I was not authenticated. I got one WS to register and don't know what did that.  I am working on the other(this is a test network) with the same symptoms.
On the root of the drive of the local workstation there should be a hidden file called workstation.id.....check it out.

Your last comment was the clue.  The id file indicated registration info from a different tree.  I deleted the id file and the log file and rebooted.  Same problem, so I figured the registry was holding the settings in the id file.  I ran regedit and "find" for the old tree name, and found a set of keys related to that old tree.  I deleted the registry folder and rebooted.  TADA!  The system registered in NWADMIN and the log and id files are correct. The bad news is that this indicates moving a system from one tree, after registration in that tree, to another tree, requires this level of troublshooting.

Thanks trevmac!!
We build our PC's from a clone image.  For a while we had an extra test tree, it was a pain getting the w/s to register in the test tree when they had been built for the live one.
