Battery replacement

I must replace the battery in my PC. Are there any special precautions I must take before doing so.

I usually go into the BIOS b4 a battery replacement, check/jot down any settings that are specific to the machine, shutdown, pull the power cable, swap batteries, replug, fire the hummer up, go into the bios, recheck the settings, save and boot.

when you go back into the BIOS, be sure to reset your date and time............ or be like me and wonder why two weeks later, all the date stamps were strange.

Release the static electricity from your hands by touching the power supply,then check/write down the settings on the cmos-setup,replace the battery and boot your,check the cmos to see if everything is fine and reboot again.

Turn of pc, then touch the power supply to Release static form your hands. write down your Cmos Setting or if your pc is fairly new you can auto detect Hd.
be sure to set your pc clock.
