Remove title file in Add/remove dialogBox

I have install some software in my computer. After that I do not like it and I uninstall it. This remove was successful in directory where it located. However, when I check it in add/remove program in Control Panel: It still be there. I try remove it one more time but there is message:"Missing ...files...". (I knew it because I did remove this software before). Right now how can I remove it from the list ADD/Remove dialogBox?

Vbn,

This is a fairly common problem with any version of Windows.
Quite often if an application fails to uninstall completly for whatever reason, the names are left displayed on Add / Remove programs.

The only way I know to get rid of them is to search the Registry file and hack them out.

It really is quite easy, but also can be quite dangerous if you are not patient.

If you are interested in how to do it, add a comment to this note and I will be notified, then we can talk some more.

Take care,

Hi Knucklehead

Thank you very much for your help. I really want to know how I  can remove some title of program in Add/remove program dialogbox when these programs are no longer exist.
I just do install them back (for I have uninstall file) and I remove them again. However, in add/remove program dialogbox add one more line for this program. Please lets me know how i can remove it from add/remove program dialogbox.
Thank you so much for this help.

vbn, thanks and you're welcome. pslh
pslh,

Nothing more than you already told him.  When I originally posted my note I did it from an area where I was not able to view, what you had already posted.

I was not about to post notes on how to dig into the Registry, unless he felt comfortable with it.

If he would have wanted further details, I would have pointed him the same direction you did.
