Thanks for your help.  The suggestion that I use the info from the MS site was a good one, however it didn't work!
I appreciate your effort non the less.

Thanks, sorry for the delay. FYI after I tried MS'S solution, explorer crashed every time I tried to start the computer.
Thats when I decided to format and reinstall everything.

When you think you have windows figured, it comes back and bites you.
FYI, If it helpes you at a later time.
Among other things, I keep a second drive in my pc for the sole purpose of backing up my 1st.
When I have it running good, I back it up, as a mirror image. Whenever the 1st becomes unstable and too much of a problem to repair, I erase it and copy the other to it.
Many times its easier than trying to diagnose the problem.
It's saved me untold number of hours.
