Dialog List with link

My problem is that the first entry on my dialog list is not being triggered because the javascript trigger is onChange. When the user opens my web page, an entry is already shown on the dialog list (for example Category 1). When the user clicks on this, it does not go to the URL of Category 1. When I choose another entry which is Category 2 it works. How can I make the first entry on my dialog list work? I have seen other websites, they place a button beside the dialog list so when the user clicks on this button, it will go to the URL of the first entry. I dont like the button solution.

Barkley,

I knew u will suffer from this, but didnt raise the topic at the time:)  This is a normal behaviour of the 'OnChange' event, and since u just choose the first entry, it means nothing changed, since its the default, also do u remember my button solution;)

Ok what I can think of is just add an entry to the view, with no url, so the value property would be ("") a null string.  And in the java script test for the null string, and do nothing if it was the case.  The entry could be something like "-Choose a website-" make sure u add some character (like the hyphen "-") that always appear at the top in an ascending sorted view, so it will be the fisrt choice in the list.
